To say that out of crisis comes opportunity is a cliché of the first order, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. BRF programmes have been responding the challenges of the Covid-19 crisis in a whole range of different ways and Holy Habits is no exception. For the first time ever, we’re running a virtual Holy Habits Home Group, beginning at 7.30pm on Tuesday 21 April and meeting for eight weeks through to 9 June.

Holy Habits pioneer Andrew Roberts will host eight sessions on Sharing Resources, one of the ten Holy Habits practiced by the early Church in Acts 2: 42-47 and, arguably, one of the most important habits to develop as we seek as Christians to make a difference in our current circumstances, responding faithfully and creatively in the light of Jesus’ example.

Join our virtual Holy Habits Home Group on 21 April and experience real time fellowship and learning

Everyone is welcome, whether individuals or groups: we want as many people as possible to experience how fellowship, learning and Holy Habits can create missional communities.

While Andrew has long nurtured the dream of a widespread Holy Habits community of learning, the challenges of the Covid-19 crisis have given new impetus to Andrew’s vision:

‘One of the precious things about the evolution of Holy Habits is the way in which a sense of community has grown as we have explored Luke’s gift to us together through the study of Acts 2:42-47. I would love to see that sense of togetherness grow as we journey through these eight weeks.

‘We will be journeying together in very challenging times. We have deliberately chosen the habit of Sharing Resources as this is something that the Covid-19 crisis is causing us to consider in depth and with creativity. I hope this series will help with this.’

Ironically, our current confinement to home takes us closer to the life of the early church than most of us have experienced before. ‘For reasons no-one foresaw,’ says Andrew, ‘we have been thrust back into a way of being where the primary meeting place was the home. I hope this series will help wider conversations about are we are Church rather than how we go to Church.’

Practicalities

The eight sessions, each on a different theme, will consist of a 30-minute video followed by a 30-minute live conversation based on questions submitted to Andrew in advance.
