Who Let The Dads Out? are pleased to offer this training day for church leaders, workers and volunteers interested in this developing area of ministry. The training gets to grips with why and how to engage with men wherever they are on their fatherhood journey.

This training day will explore some of the theology around the role of fathers and father figures, the need for intentional and specific ministry, the social and spiritual benefits and some practical approaches.

10.30 - 11.00 am Welcome; Introductions; Exploring the aims of the day
11.00 - 11.45 am My father, my son - A look at biblical examples of good & bad fathers and at God as father
11.45 am - 12.00 pm Break
12.00 - 12.30 pm Where are the men? - Exploring the 'gender gap' in the UK church
12.30 - 1.30 pm Break for lunch - Lunch is not provided so please bring your own
1.30 - 2.15 pm Fatherhood - Exploring the role of fathers through history up to today and assessing the social & spiritual significance of the father-child relationship
2.15 - 3.00 pm Changing a nation? - Practical approaches to reaching out and working with fathers and children together
3.00 - 3.15 pm Break
3.15 - 4.00pm So what? - Reflections on what we've learnt and addressing any gaps/questions


Mark Chester is the founder of Who Let The Dads Out? and joined the BRF staff team in July 2013 to support the growth of the movement. He is a writer, speaker and consultant specialising in fatherhood, with a ministry to turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.

Tony Sharp is BRF's National Coordinator for the Who Let The Dads Out? ministry. A mechanical engineer by training, he is passionate about the importance of strong families... as well as many kinds of sport.
