Sessions in this issue

  • Our worldwide family
  • The valley of dry bones
  • Handling our worries
  • Team Jesus

In detail:

Get Messy! includes material from the whole Bible, not just the more obvious Gospel stories. So this edition takes us from the New Testament letters to the Old Testament and into the Gospels.

May is when many churches remember Pentecost, so we'll be thinking how the Holy Spirit draws us together as the worldwide family of Christ to celebrate the Church's birthday. The passage from Colossians is a cracking one, focused on the Holy Spirit. Another reason this month is celebratory for Messy Churches is that the first Messy Church Conference takes place in May, with friends from all around the world.

In June we look at the noisy story of the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel, picking up on the idea of that same Holy Spirit breathing life into dead situations.

In July we'll enjoy the reassuring words of Jesus about handling our worries. As many of our families are going through real worries about food, clothes and money, what do Jesus' words mean to us?

And in August it's the Olympics in Rio, so we pick up on the sporty theme by discovering what it means to be on Team Jesus.

Also in this issue

  • Floating in the summer sky
  • Messy Church as mission
  • Church twinning
