God works through his people, and getting to know our spiritual ancestors enables us to learn from them and be inspired by them. This book insightfully connects their past with our present to open us to God's future.
Simon Reed, author of Creating Community (BRF, 2013)

Content

The life stories of the Celtic saints are inspirational. They demonstrate great and unassuming faith, often in the face of insurmountable difficulties. In 40 Days with the Celtic Saints David Cole draws us to relate our own life journey and developing relationship with God into the life story of the Celtic saint of the day. A corresponding biblical text and blessing encourages and motivates us to transform our lives for today's world in the light of such historic faith.

Reviews

Magnet, Summer 2018. Reviewed by Juliet Campbell

In 2010 David Cole left full-time employment as a church minister to found Waymark Ministries.

The aim of the ministry is to try and present the Christian faith to those who are seeking spiritual meaning, but who may not be at ease with the traditional or mainstream church model. It is based on the Christian contemplative and mystic way and offers workshops, retreats and local organised events.

David is also an Explorer Guide for the Aidan and Hilda Community and a speaker who has travelled both in this country and abroad. He lives in the New Forest with his wife and two children.

He introduces what Celtic Christianity is and gives a potted history of how it began and grew. The book then devotes each chapter to a Celtic saint, followed by a meditation, a passage of scripture and a blessing.

I found the book inspiring, informing and a good stepping-off point for contemplative prayer and mindfulness. The chapters are a good length and the book can be used in a book or individually. It can be used as a study book for Lent or Advent, but also at any time of the year.

I recommend it.
