Content

The Sermon on the Mount is not usually considered the most obvious teaching for children yet the messages it contains are valuable for all ages. The Secret of Happiness presents the teaching of Jesus in a way that children of 5-7 will warm to. The story unfolds as Jesus preaches and each of the hearers can identify with something that he says. Characters in the story, and children listening to it, will find out how God wants us all to live happily and love other people. So stand alongside Reuben and his friends as they laugh - and listen to what Jesus has to say.

Combining the well-known storytelling skills of Jan Godfrey and the illustrations of Honor Ayres, this is the message of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount interpreted for young children.

This is also a re-working of a well known text.' The Sermon on the Mount made possible for youngsters. This clever adaptation hears the sermon from the view of an eye witness, a little boy called Reuben. There is much wisdom and truth in this book. I could hear myself reading the book aloud and getting the children to join in with actions and noises. (Good teaching tool for any teacher) This book like Shepherds Song - The Sermon on the Mount for Children is nicely illustrated and colourful.
