The festive season brings with it the wonderful opportunity to put on a simple nativity play with 3-7s, either in church or in your church hall or classroom. Silent Night
A delightful play about the origins of the famous carol and why it was first performed with a guitar accompaniment. Do look out for the delightful gift book of the story of 'Silent Night' also by Vicki Howie - a perfect accompaniment to the play.

An A4 size book with three plays, each play starts with with five activity sessions, spread over five weeks with crafts, a story time and 'rehearsals'.

'The Advent calendar puzzle'
Based upon the pictures behind a traditional Advent Calendar, the five weeks of activity leading to the production of a simple nativity play.

'What can I give him?'
Based upon the Posada (see also the Church Army Posada link on the Christmas Web Site handout), this set of activities and play represents the Christmas truth in a contemporary setting.

'Silent Night'
You all know the song - this is the history of its writing & why it was first accompanied by a guitar.

Each set of activities and play is accompanied by photocopiable pictures to colour, crafty activities, individual play parts, posters for the plays and a really nice stage plan.
